Opioid use is a serious and widespread issue in North Carolina. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the risk of opioid overdose greatly increased. There was a rise in both deaths and emergency department visits related to opioid overdose. Vaya’s Opioid Misuse Prevention and Treatment Program aims to prevent opioid drug:

This is a comprehensive program with specific parts and goals. It was created to align with the NC Opioid Action Plan. Through this program, Vaya is helping local communities return to the downward trend achieved pre-pandemic.
